Two step authentication can be enabled to add an extra layer of security. There are two options:
- Use Email - Use the email registered on the account. At login, user name and password credentials will need to be entered, plus a 6 digit one time password (OTP) sent to the user's registered email address.
- Use Authenticator App - Use a free authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or Duo). At login, user name and password credentials will need to be entered, plus a 6 digit code from the authenticator app.
To enable this feature, click on the user avatar in the top right corner, and choose 2FA from the dropdown which will bring you to the Security and Authentication screen under profile and personal settings. In the Security and Authentication screen, select an option to either Use Email or Use Authenticator App.
- To set up the email authentication step, an OTP will be sent to the email to verify and turn on two step authentication. Once verified, a different code will be sent to that email during each login after entering in the username and password. A notification will be sent to the email on the account that 2FA has been turned on.
- To set up the Google Authenticator app, scan the barcode shown in Xebrio with the app or enter in a code manually to add a user. Once added, a 6 digit code from the app will be needed at each login after entering username and password credentials. Note that authenticator app will change the code after a certain number of seconds.
Contact your system Admin if you have any issues with two step authentication.
